A governance health check for practice businesses

For doctors who own, or are looking to own, a practice as well as healthcare company directors, it’s essential to learn and apply sound governance skills. Poor, or non-existent governance skills can adversely impact your business, its patients and employees.

That’s why Avant and PracticeHub have created a webinar series on the duties and risks for practice owners.

The second webinar in our Duties and Risks series for practice owners - A governance health check for practice businesses, features Governance Institute of Australia CEO, Megan Motto. She explains how corporate governance relates to healthcare practitioners and SMEs, and outline key governance principles for your practice, including:

  • Five essential corporate governance and management strategies.
  • Enhancing staff wellbeing and reducing risk during pandemic-related activities.
  • Your legal and regulatory obligations as a director.
  • Risks to your practice’s reputation and promoting a highly ethical workplace in 2021.

Our panel also includes Riwka Hagen, Medical Business Services and David Williams, Neurology Network and Hoxton MPM.

Protect your practice and your team with Avant Practice Medical Indemnity Insurance. Covers your practice for the actions of staff, complaints, privacy breaches, employee disputes, Medicare audits, telehealth and a range of other risks^.
